In Proud Support of the Reporting Community, Pete Giammanco Joins the Inaugural Board of Directors of the STTI

HOUSTON, TX, September 15, 2020 – This last week, the Speech-to-Text Institute (STTI) announced its inaugural 11-member Board of Directors. We’re thrilled to share that U.S. Legal Support’s President and Chief Strategy Officer, Peter J. Giammanco, CSR No. 6810, RPR, CRR, CLR, will serve as Director alongside other industry leaders, working together to lead the industry by setting standards of competence, professionalism and service.

We, along with STTI, believe that the collective service of the legal community’s record-keeping needs in today’s market requires the use of stenographers, voice writers, digital reporters and videographers, all while we look to harness the capabilities of new technologies.

U.S. Legal Support has deep roots in court reporting with many members of its leadership team, including Pete, spending decades of their careers as practicing Certified Shorthand Reporters. We recognize and believe that stenographers remain the gold standard for transcribing speech into text. Unfortunately, due to the national court reporter shortage, we can no longer rely solely on a dwindling community of stenographers to meet the needs and demands of our mutual clients.

It is with a spirit of collaboration that U.S. Legal Support looks forward to partnering with STTI in establishing solutions that acknowledge the merits of all technologies, setting standards and best practices and building a community of cooperation that breeds innovation and protects the sanctity of the official record.
